Common Grackle is the new project from demented pop genius Gregory Pepper. Pepper is best know for his bands Gregory Pepper & His Problems and The Dymaxions. As Common Grackle, he has released a fantastic new record that is a collaboration with hip-hop producer Factor. The album also features a track with hip hop legend Kool Keith. This Guelph show will be the first time Pepper is joined by a full band to play songs from the Common Grackle album.
“There are certain elements that when combined, make it impossible to ignore a song. A rubber band string bass line. Hand claps. A nice female voice. Melodicas. Group shouted vocals. So when you consider that on the new Hooded Fang EP, Circles and Blocks, combines all of these things perfectly, it shouldn’t be a huge shock that the song hooks you instantly” – Hero Hill
Steve McKay is from Toronto via Hamilton, Ontario. He has performed and recorded as drummer or whatever with the likes of Bruce Peninsula, T H O M A S, Timber Timbre and a handful of other great acts from the Greater Toronto area. Steven McKay’s releases include a brand new self titled full length out on Fuzzy Logic Recordings.
