MEMORYHOUSE (myspace)
Memoryhouse are a Guelph based dream-pop duo. Starting out as a lo-fi bedroom recording project of composer Evan Abeele and vocalist Denise Nouvion, they have since released two 7″ records and an EP to critical acclaim from Pitchfork and beyond. Drawing on influences like My Bloody Valentine and the Cocteau Twins, Memoryhouse float in a sea of reverb and delay where pop hooks wash in and out. Drawing favourable comparisons to bands like Beach House, the duo have received overwhelmingly positive reviews for their latest EP. Having toured Europe and the US extensively in the past year, this Kazoo! show marks the first time they will play in their hometown of Guelph, ON.

You can download their latest, The Years EP for free.

MATHEMAGIC (myspace)
Mathemagic is the collaboration of brothers Evan and Dylan Euteneier from Guelph Ontario. They capture the feeling of the summer using their warm, dazed guitar riffs, barely-there synths, and blissed out harmonies. The songs draw inspiration from The Beach Boys to Animal Collective and contemporaries such as Washed Out, Friend, and Toro Y Moi. The brothers initially worked on separate projects until coming together as a band last summer. Pitchfork had this to say, “Canadian duo Mathemagic seem to be working in a hazy but delicate nu-gaze vein, favoring shimmering drones and layered voices heavy on the reverb”.

WOLK
Wolk is the moniker of Guelph based electronic wonderkid Karl Skene. Formerly of legendary local band TIN, his DJ sets are a blend of dubstep and electro-trickery not to be missed.
