KAZOO! FEST 2019: THURSDAY PREVIEW

 In Kazoo Fest! 2019

Jennifer Castle

You’re back for more, way to go! It’s another weeknight, so we’ve made it worth your while to be a little sleepy at work tomorrow.

Head to Capacity 3 (6 Dublin St S) at 6PM for the opening reception for Shaheer Zazai’s WYSIWYM. This Ed Video co-presented event features Zazai’s incredible works of art, using only Microsoft Word to improvise complex patterns resembling traditional rugs from Afghanistan. A definite highlight.

Following the reception, head to Mitchell Hall (St. George’s Church) for a performance by Guelph rock trio Royal Castles at 8PM, co-presented by Riverfest Elora. At 9 PM, Nicolette & The Nobodies take the stage to serenade you with tunes that sound straight out of the golden era of country. Closing the show at 10 PM, our friends at CFRU 93.3 FM are helping us out by co-presenting Jennifer Castle, who will enchant you with her mournful and haunting folk songs. Guelph’s own VERSA are providing their colourfully dreamy live visuals for this show.

If you’re looking for more of a rockin’ evening, head to the eBar (41 Quebec St) at 10 PM to catch Guelph’s noise rock trio Baby Labour, debuting a brand new set for the fest. At 10:45 PM, Place for Bands co-presents Nigel Nigel with a set that melds rock, pop, and R&B. Our friends at Sappyfest are helping us end this night right with Motherhood, who will send you home feeling just as energized as when you set out. Videomancy are back to provide their captivating visuals for this show.

Now go catch some Zzz’s and we’ll see you back for our weekend kick-off!
