    March 30 – May 3, 2019

    Reception – Thursday, April 11, 2019 – 6PM to 8PM

Capacity 3 Gallery, 6 Dublin St S, Guelph

Shaheer Zazai is a Toronto-based Afghan-Canadian artist working in painting and digital media. His practice focuses on exploring and attempting to investigate the development of cultural identity in the present geopolitical climate and diaspora.

Ed Video, Kazoo! Fest, and Capacity 3 Gallery presents the WYSIWYM (what you see is what you mean) by Shaheer Zazai, featuring prints and videos. Using only Microsoft Word, the artist has invented a technique to improvise complex patterns resembling traditional rugs from Afghanistan. Each design requires tens of thousands of keystrokes to create beautiful compositions that are printed on watercolour paper. Also featured will be several videos showing the artist’s method.
