Kazoo! #99: The Racoon Wedding / BA Johnston / The Lava & Ash – June 3rd @ eBar

 In Uncategorized

From country stomp to punk to dylanesque lyrical prowess, The Racoon Wedding play as loud or as soft as they please. Members of the band are also the founders of the all ages venue and art space The Ford Plant in Brantford, On. They have released one split 7″ with now defunct Guelph band Elbow Beach Surf Club. Their new LP “Gather Gather Bones/Rattle Rattle Truth” was released in October of 2009 on their own Ford Plant Recording Co.

Ba Johnston has spent the last 4 years either living at his moms or touring Canada on the greyhound bus. he’s played in laundromats, laundry rooms, stag and does, church halls, legions, bars, bookstores, vegan cafes and other hell holes across this country. his music is nerd rock at its highest point, dork lullabyes and loser anthems. 5 albums later he is still eating mr.noodles in his moms basement and hoping to soon escape.

From Toronto, the Lava and Ash make garage rock sound like something entirely new. The band is made up of 4 members of Brantford’s Dead Love Triangle. Their new EP is a detailed playing card with a download code that was released on local Guelph label Out of Sound Records.
