Kazoo! #220: The Weather Station / Richard Laviolette
THE WEATHER STATION:
The Weather Station is the project of Canadian songwriter Tamara Lindeman; folk music based in classic elements of songcraft – melody, tension, meaning. With three exceptional releases under her belt (All Of It Was Mine, What Am I Going To Do With Everything I Know and Loyalty), Lindeman established herself as a songwriter’s songwriter, earning accolades for her delicate, carefully worded verse, filled with double meanings, complex metaphors, and rich details of the everyday.
RICHARD LAVIOLETTE:
Richard Laviolette writes compassionate songs of romance, protest and political struggle. Songs full of life and mortality, sung in a clear brave voice. A member of the mighty You’ve Changed Records roster, Richard is one of our timeless greats.
