Kazoo! #221: Steven Lambke / Bernice / Cold on Pluto – Jan. 16th @ Silence

 In Uncategorized

STEVEN LAMBKE:
Steve Lambke is an important fellow. He plays guitar in one of Canada’s greatest bands (Constantines), he runs one of Canada’s best labels (You’ve Changed) and he’s put out a handful of amazing records under a recently retired moniker (Baby Eagle). With the release of his first album as Steven Lambke, his music has reached new heights. Intimate and universal all at once, Days of Heaven is a timeless album that sees his songwriting in pristine form and solidifies his place as one of Canada’s greatest lyricists.

This special performance will be even more special as Steven will be joined by some very special guests.

BERNICE:
Led by singer Robin Dann’s beautiful and intricate vocal melodies, and featuring some of Toronto’s best players (Thom Gill, Colin Fisher, Josh Cole, Felicity Williams and Phil Melanson), Toronto’s Bernice is imbued with a sense of experimentalism and wonder. Simply put, there’s something deeply affecting and infectious about Bernice’s songs. Never has so much skill, passion, and thought been contained within something so delicate.

COLD ON PLUTO:
Cold on Pluto is the brainchild of Rigel Rozanski. A few of us at Kazoo! were lucky enough to see his unique breed of smart, spacey and affecting pop songs a few months back and we knew we had to have him do a show with us. Please welcome the new kid on the block — we’re lucky to have him on said block.

Kazoo! #221: Saturday January 16th @ Silence (46 Essex Street) – All Ages / LIC – Doors 8:00pm – $10
